Electronic Payment of Fees

With effect from 19 September 2014, the Irish Patents Office will accept payment of all fees by electronic means only.

This is in support of an Irish Government initiative entitled "e-Day" that aims to drive a significant increase in the usage of ePayments in the Irish economy in order to bring about increased competitiveness and efficiency. Accordingly, with effect from 19th September 2014, all Central Government, local authorities, State Agencies and Offices in Ireland will no longer issue or accept cheque payments. The Patents Office has been informed that we cannot accept cheques from business users from that date and that electronic payment alternatives must be provided to all business users.
