The next “Building a Business on Your Ideas” seminar will take place in Athlone Institute of Technology on Wednesday 14th December 2011.
These seminars are aimed at the ‘small business’ community, entrepreneurs and inventors and are organised by the Patents Office, in cooperation with The Enterprise Europe Network, Enterprise Ireland and the County Enterprise Boards and the local Institute of Technology.
The seminars will focus on:-
• how business should be aware of and can exploit the value of Intellectual Property (Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Copyright) and
• the support structures that are available for small businesses and start-ups from the State and Europe.
Expert speakers from the private sector will include a Patent Attorney, a representative from a company named ‘Technology from Ideas’, a representative from the Industry, Research and Development Group, a local entrepreneur and an expert on branding.
Speakers from the public sector will include representatives from the Patents Office, Enterprise Ireland, County Enterprise Boards, the Enterprise Europe Network and the local Institute of Technology.
The next seminar will take place on Wednesday 14th December 2011 in Athlone Institute of Technology with further seminars to be held in Cork and Limerick early in 2012 (dates to be confirmed).

The seminars will start at 9.10am and finish at 4.30pm with a break for lunch from 12.50 to 13.50pm. There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with the speakers during the lunch and coffee breaks and from 4.00pm to 4.30pm.
